The British Parliament approved, on the night of Monday April 22 to Tuesday April 23, the controversial bill allowing the expulsion to Rwanda of asylum seekers who entered the United Kingdom illegally.

A Rwandan hotel is being renovated and is preparing to welcome migrants deported by the United Kingdom. “We can accommodate 100 people in 50 rooms. Migrants have the right to leave the establishment, it is not a prison”, specifies the manager of the establishment. For him, the controversial agreement between Kigali and London is an opportunity to fill his rooms.

A difficult job search

The authorities are preparing to accommodate a total of 500 migrants in three hotels on site. They will complete their asylum application and will have to launch a procedure to see if their files will be accepted. They will have the right to work. But in a country where 40% of the population is unemployed, the chances of finding a job are slim.
