Numerous testimonies and videos accumulated by the New York Times document the capture and execution of at least eight Ukrainians by Russian soldiers in this city on the outskirts of kyiv.

The scene took place on March 4 in Boutcha. The nine men cross the street with their backs bent, in single file, one hand on their head and the other holding the belt of the person in front. At each end, a Russian soldier who points his rifle at them and orders them to advance until they get out of the camera’s view. At least eight of these men were then executed, according to the American daily, which obtained and located numerous testimonies and documents: photos and videos from surveillance cameras, drones or on social networks. The newspaper also identified the nine people, who joined the Ukrainian Defense Forces after the war began.
These executions “could become a strong argument in favor of prosecution for war crimes”, according to Stephen Rapp, ex-ambassador at large of the United States on the questions of war crimes quoted in the article. Elements that contradict the assertions of Moscow, which still denies having perpetrated war crimes since the start of the invasion.
