The Russian army is advancing in the Donbass, in eastern Ukraine, and is approaching the key city, Severodonetsk, which would allow more control of this region.
Columns of smoke are above Severodonetsk (Ukraine), a strategic city in the Donbass, now bombarded day and night by Russian artillery. Here, it’s the same scenario as in Mariupol (Ukraine). Before the war, there were 100,000 inhabitants. Thursday, May 26, the city is unrecognizable. Defending it now seems impossible.
Russia’s other objective is the Luhansk region, where some localities have just fallen. After three months of bombing, the Russian troops are progressing and are close to the goal. In their trenches, Ukrainian soldiers are still waiting for more heavy weapons to be able to strike the enemy at longer distances and prevent the whole of Donbass from falling into Russian hands in the coming days.
