Several Russian drones attacked Ukrainian towns on the night of Tuesday December 19 to Wednesday December 20, according to local authorities. Strikes targeted kyiv, as well as Kharkiv and Kherson. “During the shelling of Kherson this evening by the Russian occupiers, nine people were injured, including four children” aged 2 to 13, the city mayor said on Telegram. Among these injured, “a mother and her three children were hospitalized.” “They have bruises and explosive injuries”added the elected official.
Several Iranian-made Shahed explosive drones were also shot down by Ukrainian air defenses as they were heading towards kyiv, according to the head of the capital’s military administration. “According to preliminary data, (…) there are no victims or damage”, he wrote on Telegram. He specified that this attack, the fifth on the capital in December, had been carried out from the Black Sea.
The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, for his part reported at least two strikes near residential buildings in his city. “Information on casualties and destruction is being clarified”, he wrote on Telegram. Since the fall, Moscow has increased nightly attacks against Ukrainian cities.
