A night of terror. Four civilians were killed and around sixty others were injured on Tuesday January 23 during nighttime Russian air strikes targeting the cities of kyiv and Kharkiv in particular. Kharkiv regional governor Oleg Synegoubov announced that three people were killed and 42 others injured. Around twenty civilians were also injured in the Ukrainian capital, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. In Pavlograd, in the center of the country, “one person was killed and another injured”according to Serguii Lysak, the regional leader.
According to Valery Zaluzhny, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, Russia fired 41 missiles of the S-300, S-400, KH-101, KH-555, KH-55, KH-22, KH-59 and Iskander. In total, anti-aircraft defenses shot down 21, according to the same source. The military leader assured that these missiles “did not all reach their target” without giving further details. In kyiv, an unexploded warhead from a missile was found in an apartment in the Sviatochynski district, according to Vitali Klitschko, near a burning building and vehicles.
