In Ukraine, the city of Mykolaiv was targeted by strikes on Sunday March 13. Russia also bombed a military base in Yavoriv.
Sunday, March 13, the war in Ukraine continues to claim many victims. In the city of Mykolaiv (Ukraine), some residents were out shopping at the time of the strikes. Nine people died, and the whole neighborhood felt the explosion. “What I feel is fear and hate“, says a resident.
Near the Polish border, the Yavoriv military base (Ukraine) was also violently bombarded. A few weeks earlier, it hosted non-Ukrainian soldiers. With this strike, Russia claims to have eliminated what it calls “foreign mercenaries”. A final assessment reports 35 dead and 134 injured. Rescuers are working to help those affected. So far, the region had been spared from the bombardments.
On Sunday, President Volodymyr Zelensky appeared alongside Ukrainian soldiers, before going to meet war wounded. The resistance is not weakening, as in Kherson (Ukraine), where demonstrations took place.
