Russian soldiers take possession of Adviivka and its surroundings

In a car, soldiers of the Russian army are on their way to Adviivka, a Ukrainian town that has fallen into the hands of the Russians. Located in western Ukraine, it was the scene of intense fighting and is now nothing more than a field of ruins. The Russians are trying to demine the city, but booby traps are everywhere. Despite significant human losses, the Russian army seems confident.

The Ukrainian army lacks men and ammunition

Not far from Adviivka, several other small villages also fell into the hands of the Russians. According to the Ukrainian army, which is struggling to recruit men, these villages have fallen due to a lack of fighters. “Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces withdrew in order to organize defenses and prevent the enemy from advancing further in the westward direction”, indicated Dmitro Lykhoviy, spokesperson for the Ukrainian army. It also complains of a lack of ammunition and claims to have received only 30% of the million artillery shells promised by the European Union.
