After the Paris Opera and that of Bordeaux, it is Nice Opera which helps Ukrainians. On stage, French, Russian and Ukrainian artists play to celebrate peace. A common reaction, in unison, intended to react, in music, against this fratricidal war which has been going on for a month at the gates of Europe.
The orchestra of the Nice opera had already shown its solidarity by interpreting, on March 9, the Ukrainian anthem at the opening of the evening of the Victoires de la musique.
On the program of this exceptional solidarity concert: the pianist Nicolas Bringuier and his wife Olga Monakh, of Ukrainian origin, surrounded by artists who have long been committed to promoting brotherhood between peoples. They performed works by Brahms, Dvorak, Fauré, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, Tchaikovsky and even Skoryk, a contemporary Ukrainian composer.
When we play we don’t play a Russian author because all the stories are very complex, for example Tchaikovsky had a Ukrainian grandfather, so we play music together.

This concert, organized in partnership with the city of Nice, was therefore placed under the sign of solidarity. All proceeds will be donated to an association that helps Ukrainian children prisoners in war zones.
Another concert mixing, this time, opera and musical comedy is scheduled for Monday, March 28 afternoon at 4 p.m. Behind this new proposal, it is a message of hope that the artists intend to send to the people of Ukraine.
Music is not going to stop the war but I believe that music is a very powerful weapon to stay connected to your humanity and try to transmit messages of peace.
