Russia demands clarification from International Atomic Energy Agency after release of report on situation at Ukraine’s Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. “There is a need to obtain additional clarifications, because the report contains a number of question marks”said Sergey Lavrov, the head of Russian diplomacy, to the Russian agency Interfax, Wednesday, September 7.

A few hours earlier, already, the Russian ambassador to the UN had notably deplored that the IAEA, still in its report, did not designate the Ukrainian forces as those which bombed the Zaporijjia power station. As for the spokesperson for Russian diplomacy, Maria Zakharova, she denounces “pressures” of the West on the IAEA.

“It is obvious that the West has always put pressure [sur l’AIEA] and he won’t stop doing it.”
