The Russian General Prosecutor’s Office declared on Wednesday September 28 that the Russian security services (FSB) had opened an investigation for “act of international terrorism” after the alleged sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea. “Based on elements sent by the Russian General Prosecutor’s Office (…) the FSB investigative body has opened a criminal case. A preliminary investigation has begun”the prosecution said in a statement posted on its Telegram account.

“Near the (Danish) island of Bornholm intentional actions have been taken to damage the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines located at the bottom of the Baltic Sea”is it written in this press release. “The Russian Federation has suffered serious economic damage as a result of these acts”adds the prosecution.
The UN Security Council will meet on Friday at Russia’s request on this sabotage, Sweden and France announced on Wednesday. Subject of all suspicions after these events, Moscow had counter-attacked by demanding this meeting of the UN Security Council on Wednesday and pointing to the United States.
