In Russia, a man opened fire in a school, causing the death of at least ten people according to a still provisional report. The shooter allegedly committed suicide.
In central Russia, in the city ofIzhevsk of 600,000 inhabitants, a shooting in a school left, according to a still provisional report, more than ten dead, including at least one teacher. In a video taken inside the school, a student films his classmates curled up on the ground. In another room, schoolchildren are confined with their teacher. According to the authorities, a gunman entered the building for a few minutes, apparently shooting at random, before committing suicide.
“An unknown person entered the school. He killed the guard, as far as we know. There are other victims among the children, injured. Evacuation is over now”explains Alexander Vladimirovich BrechalovGovernor of the Republic ofUdmurt. According to footage provided by Russian authorities, the shooter’s magazines were found with the word “Hate” written in red paint, and a swastika inscribed on his chest. It is not known if this massacre has any connection with the war in Ukraine. The Kremlin evokes, at midday on Monday, September 26, a “inhuman act of terrorism”.
