Russia isolated internationally

In several countries, the population expresses its support for Ukraine. In a vote at the UN, only four countries supported Russia in this war.

Around the world, from Japan to Portugal, several demonstrations have taken place in support of Ukraine. In France, Saturday March 5, more than 40,000 people took to the streets, including 16,000 in Paris, to march for peace and against Russian President Vladimir Putin. “It’s a horror, it’s a crime against humanity”denounces a demonstrator.

For his part, increasingly isolated internationally, Vladimir Putin has staged himself in his country. For the first time since the beginning of the war, he was surrounded by civilians: air hostesses at his table, a cup of tea in hand but still speaking radically. Facing him, the union remains strong. Wednesday, March 2, during a vote at the UN, only four countries supported Russia in its war, 35 abstained. This result was widely applauded on the spot. Diplomatic ties are not, however, severed. The Chief of Staff of the French Armed Forces announces that he spoke on the telephone with his Russian counterpart.
