Russell Brand case | Police received ‘a number’ of sexual assault charges

(London) London police said Monday they had received “a number of accusations” of sexual assault relating to British actor Russell Brand since several women accused him of rape and sexual assault in an investigation published mid -september.

These accusations relate to “non-recent” facts, said the police, who added that they are continuing their investigation and that no arrests have yet taken place.

The provocative 48-year-old actor, who has become an anti-establishment influencer on social networks where millions of subscribers follow him, rejected the revelations of the joint investigation by the Timesof Sunday Times and the Channel 4 television channel made public on September 16.

In this investigation, four women accused him, one of rape, the others of sexual assault and psychological violence.

Russell Brand affirms that his relationships were always “consensual”, even during a period when he admitted to having been “very, very wanton”.

In a video posted Saturday on his various social media accounts, he described the past week as “painful” and “extraordinary,” and thanked his fans for their support.

He also criticized the British government, saying it had asked tech giants to “censor” him online. He railed against “deep state-corporate collusion” and “corruption and media censorship.”
