The film Ru continues to compete with American blockbusters at the Quebec box office.
In its second week on screen, the adaptation of Kim Thúy’s novel maintained its third position in the list of films that generated the most revenue in Quebec, according to Cinéac.
Ru raised some $313,000 between 1er and on December 7, just a few thousand less than Napoleon ($319,000) and that Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird ($388,000), which sits at the top of the list.
In theaters since November 24, the film Ru tells the story of young Vietnamese Tinh and her family, accepted as refugees in Canada. The little girl, shy by nature, must adapt to her new life, in Granby, after a trying journey. The film is directed by Charles-Olivier Michaud and stars the young Chloé Djandji.
THE top 10 also makes room for children’s films, with in fourth position Trolls 3: New tour ($206,000) and in fifth place The wish: Asha and the lucky star ($172,000).
For its first week on display, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé was able to do well, accumulating revenues of $105,000. The nearly 3-hour musical film traces the history of Renaissance World Tour by Beyoncé.
The rest of the top 10 is occupied by Silent revenge, The Marvels, Godzilla Minus One And Action of grace.
