Teammate Dedrick Mills also had a good night’s work, rushing for 125 yards and a touchdown.
Jalen Philpot also scored a ground major as Reggie Begelton caught a touchdown pass for the Stampeders, who finished the CFL season on a high in front of 25,179 fans at McMahon Stadium.
Stampeders quarterback Jake Maier completed 13 of 16 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown. Stevens had four of his five attempts through the air taken, including one for a major.
Bo Levi Mitchell, the Stampeders’ all-time leader in passing yards, got playing time with just 2:28 remaining in the game.
In his final year of contract, and with Maier just signing a two-year extension, Mitchell is not expected to return to the team in 2023 after spending a decade in Calgary.
Mitchell didn’t throw a pass and his first offensive streak ended with a 13-yard field goal from Rene Paredes. The latter also managed a precision kick from distances of 14 and 33 yards.
