Rotterdam Tournament | Medvedev comes from behind to beat Sinner in final

(Rotterdam) Russian Daniil Medvedev came from behind to win the Rotterdam Open final against Italian Jannik Sinner on Sunday.


Seeded sixth in the tournament, Medvedev prevailed in three sets of 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 and collected a 16e career title on the ATP Tour.

For his part, Sinner was aiming for a second championship in a row after his triumph in Montpellier, France.

Forty-eight hours after knocking out defending champion Félix Auger-Aliassime of Quebec in two sets in the quarter-finals, Medvedev has converted five of his 12 break points and committed just 17 unforced errors, compared to 30 for Sinner.

Medvedev improved his career record to 6-0 against Sinner.

His victory assures him of a place in the top 10ninth in the ATP rankings on Monday morning.
