(Rotterdam) Quebec’s Félix Auger-Aliassime defeated former world No. 1 Andy Murray 6-3, 6-4 in Rotterdam on Thursday to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament.

The Canadian got four of the game’s six breaks.
Third-seeded Auger-Aliassime prevailed in 97 minutes against the 34-year-old Scotsman, ending the match with a forehand volley.

Auger-Aliassime reached the final of this tournament in 2020.
At the Australian Open, the 21-year-old tennis player lost in the quarter-finals to Daniil Medvedev, who made it to the final.
Ranked ninth at the ATP, Auger-Aliassime remained in control after winning the first four games of the match on Thursday.
The Quebecer is 9-3 this season.
His next rival will be Britain’s Cameron Norrie, seeded sixth. Auger-Aliassime has beaten him three times in as many occasions, so far.
