An argument between two men in their forties escalated Thursday in Rosemont, leaving one injured.
The event took place around 10:30 am near des Carrières and D’Iberville streets, in the borough of Rosemont – La Petite-Patrie in Montreal.
A 42-year-old man inflicted a stab wound on another 47-year-old man. The attacker then fled on foot, according to information provided by Raphaël Bergeron, public relations agent at the Police Department of the City of Montreal (SPVM). ” The reason of [l’altercation] remains to be determined by our investigators present on site ”, specified Raphaël Bergeron.
It could be an assault related to a marital triangle. Indeed, the injured man took refuge in a surrounding business holding his wound with his hand, according to a witness met on the spot. He then asked that we ensure the safety of a woman who was in his car, parked on the street. The woman in question was not injured in the altercation. “I don’t know if it’s a chicane, but there was something like [un problème] ex, recounted the witness. The man [blessé] was really vulnerable, ”he added.
The suspect has been identified by those there and the police are still looking for him.
The victim was taken to the hospital where she is currently being treated. She was breathing during her transport and there is no fear for her life.
Rue des Carrières was closed between rue D’Iberville and avenue Louis-Hébert.
