No retraining at Radio France for the former Minister of Culture Roselyne Bachelot. This was decided by the High Authority for the Transparency of Public Life (HATVP), which, on the other hand, gave him the green light to officiate on RTL and BFMTV at the start of the school year.

According to a July 12 decision from the HATVP, made public on Wednesday July 27, Roselyne Bachelot’s project “to produce a weekly editorial and a podcast on the France Musique station is incompatible with his former governmental functions”. This notice of incompatibility will expire three years after the end of the exercise of his governmental functions, i.e. at the end of May 2025.

The independent administrative authority, whose mission is in particular to settle questions of ethics and conflicts of interest concerning certain public officials, nevertheless rules out the “risk of illegal taking of interests” linked to future editorial work for the RTL station and for the continuous news channel BFMTV.

However, this compatibility notice comes with a reservation: Roselyne Bachelot will have to “refrain from delivering, directly or indirectly, services to companies” with which she would have intervened in the context of her duties as minister, and this during the three years preceding the services envisaged.
