Roselyne Bachelot mom: the heavy consequences of her notoriety on her son Pierre

Even if she is not one of the great international stars, Roselyne Bachelot is nonetheless a personality known to the general public. But behind the politician, there is also the protective mother. Aged 75, the former Minister of Culture had only one child in her life: a son Pierre born on December 16, 1969 from her marriage to Jacques Bachelot, from whom she divorced in 1998.

Now 52 years old, Pierre Bachelot, has – as for other star children – suffered from the media coverage of his mother Roselyne who herself had to face attacks, especially on her physique. In the early 1980s, Roselyne Bachelot, then young in her thirties, had discovered on her pillow a message written by her son Pierre, then 11 years old and a victim of bullying at school: “Mom, it’s hard to be your son.”

“My son was beaten by a teacher”

A painful memory on which Roselyne Bachelot returned to the set of the show At Jordan’s posted on the website of Entertainment TV. “Do I have the right to impose on my loved ones the fact of being mocked in a playground, of being attacked by teachers? My son was beaten by a teacher only because it was a political opponent… and that is very painful”, said Roselyne Bachelot overwhelmed by emotion. A sad episode that even has its political career: “There we say to ourselves, should I continue? Am I not making my family unhappy? I talked about it a lot with those around me, of course. They finally told me to continue but to be even closer, more in defense.”

Finally, thanks to the perseverance of his mother Roselyne, Pierre Bachelot was able to start a political career because he was her parliamentary collaborator from 1992 to 2002, her parliamentary adviser when she was Minister of Ecology from 2002 to 2004 then Minister of Health from 2007. He is now project manager with the general management of the National Institute for Prevention and Health Education (INPES). A chaotic childhood that ultimately led to a prolific career!
