Roschdy and Pio are the two heroes ofState Scandal Investigation, in theaters on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. They embody the characters of Hubert Antoine and Stéphane Vilner, a former police officer infiltrated in a drug trafficking network and a young journalist. After the seizure by French customs of seven tons of cannabis in the heart of Paris, in October 2015, Hubert Antoine, contacted Stéphane Vilner, from the newspaper Releaseand claims to be able to demonstrate the existence of state trafficking led by Jacques Billard, a high-ranking French police officer.
The feature film is also an adaptation of the book State traffics, written by journalist Emmanuel Fansten and informant Hubert Avoine and published in March 2021 (published by Robert Laffont). His investigation lifts the veil on the murky methods of the fight against drugs.
State Scandal Investigation is mainly inspired by the François Thierry affair. The former Commissioner of the Central Office for the Suppression of Illicit Drug Trafficking is suspected of having organized large-scale cannabis trafficking. He was indicted in March 2017 for “forgery and complicity in forgery in public writing by the depositary of public authority”, “complicity in drug trafficking” and “participation in a criminal association”.
François Thierry is presumed innocent of the charges against him until the final judgment of this case.
