ROP, a duo of Bordeaux musicians in the Nouvelle Aquitaine scene of France Bleu

A duo in the making, two young talents emerging from the Bordeaux scene, Julien and Hugo alias Rop. In this show you also have the explanation of this name not so strange as that, when you are a musician, the guitar being an obvious clue. These two young people meet at the Lycée Tivoli in Bordeaux and find a common playground, far from the stadiums, rather in an often improvised setting, it is about the guitar, the chords, and the hours of rehearsal. They find themselves in this passion and very quickly start looking for a professional future focused on the stage. Authors composers interpreters, even if one is rather more comfortable in the musical composition and the other in the texts, it is a real binomial in terms of creation. To work on the titles in the studio, and bring their songs to life, there are a few trips to Toulouse, where they find their producers Les Leos (the same as for Big Flo and Oli).

On the stage side, the summer of 2019 was prolific with a whole series of dates in the Bordeaux region and as far away as Germany. In January 2020, they provide the first part of Les Frangines on the main stage of the Rocher de Palmer. The release of their first single “Seule” in January 2021, accompanied by its clip and live session, marks a new beginning, synonymous with the real start of the project. A year later, it’s TNLTP (you can’t hear it), which comes out, accompanied by its clip. 2022 will be the year of the release of several tracks, stay tuned! And above all enjoy this live from the New Aquitaine scene of France Bleu, where you will experience these titles: Alone, good evening, scold me, mirage, don’t care, you don’t hear it, to name only the original compositions. And a cover of Serge Gainsbourg, the Javanese.
