In the various articles concerning the sale of Rona, we clearly see the main interest underlying all transactions. Several observers also place them within a “horizon of 5 to 7 years…”. A single goal then, yield, yield and quick return for shareholders.
Nothing to do with maintaining or creating local businesses for customers who do business with their hardware store with personalized services, offering quality items and produced as much as possible, at least in part, locally.
Nothing to do either with a minimum of concern for employees (cuse the name, it’s “associates” these days!) considered in the same way as store merchandise!
On the politicians’ side, there is no real will to act. The “invisible hand” of the market does things so well, doesn’t it?
