Romantic in 2022? An evening is organized on January 13 at the Théâtre de Périgueux. We tell you more.

Power and emotion. Julia Brian and Patrick Hilliat are ardent defenders of German romantic music. “It is neither elitist nor inaccessible”, they say. No need, moreover, to come with a particular dress-code to attend this musical moment that they give to the Odyssey of Périgueux Thursday 13 January.

In this recital: the duo will give themselves body and heart to Malher, Brahms and Schubert.

Julia Brian is known in Périgueux because holder of the state diploma in singing and professor at the Conservatory of Périgueux, she intervened as choir support, became a full conductor by taking the direction of the female vocal ensemble The Ladies of the Choir in the fall of 2006 and, in the spring of 2011, of the men’s ensemble Vox Vesunna.

Schubert: the star of German romantic music

First freelance musician (he did not respond to orders) and some tunes are known to all thanks to The advertisement. Schubert was used to brag The Puy du Fou recently, or even frozen and ham brands.

A recording under live conditions

One “Winter trip” by Schubert has been recorded under live conditions by Julia Brian and Patrick Hilliat. “Usually it is the voice of a man who sings these tunes, this is me, a woman”, explains Julia.

The CD is sold at the Maison du Piano in Périgueux but also at the end of the recital where it can be signed.
