Are Tom Cruise and singer Shakira the new Hollywood couple? Speculation has been rife since they were spotted together at the F1 Grand Prix in Miami over the weekend.
The two superstars were filmed chatting, and also posed together for photographers at the motor racing event.
Although the 46-year-old Colombian singer and star of Top Gun were part of a group watching the race, the internet quickly went up in flames when video and photos of the two single stars began circulating. Would there be a beginning of idyll between the two artists, ask their admirers.
Two single stars
Tom Cruise, 60, has not appeared publicly with a girlfriend since his divorce from Katie Holmes in 2012. As for Shakira, who received the Billboard Woman of the Year award last Saturday at the Latin Music Women Award gala in Music, she is as free as the air since her breakup with soccer player Gerard Piqué, announced last June.
“It has been a year of seismic change in my life where I have felt more than ever – and very personally – what it is to be a woman,” Shakira said on stage as she accepted her award. She was thus referring to the confirmed infidelities of the father of her children.
For his part, Tom Cruise accepted – from the air, piloting a fighter jet – the 2023 MTV award for best performance in a film for Top Gun Sunday. His popcorn trophy was even with him on the plane.
“I make these films for you. I love you. I love to entertain you. Knowing how much you appreciate him, how much you appreciate him, there’s just no better feeling,” the actor told the audience at home.
