Beethoven, Ravel, Respighi… Have you noticed that we are encouraged almost every time to comment on new releases by the American conductor of Mexican origin Robert Treviño? Quite simply because, as with Rafael Payare, something is happening. After discs at the head of his Basque Country orchestra, here is a release with that of the RAI of which he is the main guest conductor. Of the Fountains of Romewe pay attention to the quality of the colors while the chef packs Trevi Fountain in a formidable whirlwind (including the organ). Treviño does not abuse a dreamy atmosphere on The fountain of the Villa Medici, which it especially makes sparkle. THE Roman festivals, formidable, almost find the decadent madness of the Goossens version. The orchestra is far from the richness of Boston-Ozawa, Philadelphia-Muti or Chicago-Reiner, but the life is there and the atmospheres too, as in The pines of the catacombs. In 5 or 10 years, this brilliant Treviño will hopefully be conducting the aforementioned orchestras.
