The end of a long wait. Nearly eight months after his serious injury contracted during preparation for the World Cup with the the 20th day of Top 14 (31-29). He came on in the 56th minute, to a standing ovation from the Ernest-Wallon stadium, very happy to finally find his child prodigy. “It feels good. I couldn’t wait to get back on track, to get back on the pitch, to play again with my friends. (…) I found some of the feelings I had before I got injured”told the French international to AFP.

The Haut-Garonne public had chanted his name as soon as he warmed up in the goal, while Antoine Dupont played in the number 10 position which is usually his. I was really looking forward to the atmosphere of the bus, the descent, the supporters… It was really a special moment.”detailed Romain Ntamack. The 24-year-old international fly-half replaced him position for position, before the “premium” hinge of the reigning French champions and the Blues was reconstituted with the return of Dupont – not on a big night – to the scrum (68th) for an end to the game under pressure.

These first minutes of play of the year from Romain Ntamack bode well for Toulouse, before a Champions Cup round of 16 match against Racing 92 on April 7. As a reminder, on August 12, 2023, he suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament during a World Cup preparation match against Scotland. His dream of playing in the World Cup at home then collapsed.
