Rodolphe Burger, the Alsatian from Brittany on the roads of blues and raï with Mademoiselle

Rodolphe Burger for a new adventure: the Alsatian guitarist and singer who has had ties in Brittany for 30 years, tours with “Mademoiselle”, a blues-rock, raï and electro trio with the British-Algerian Sofiane Saidi (Natacha Atlas, Rachid Taha , Catherine Ringer, Startijenn…) and the Franco-Algerian electric oud player Mehdi Haddab (who already plays with Rodolphe Burger and Erik Marchand).

Alsatians have lost their taste for jokes. I like the Bretons because they manage to chamber themselves!

Rodolphe Burger’s favorite spot: Porz Melloc in Batz

It is this little corner in the North-East of the island of Batz (29), Porz Melloc that the musician, born in Alsace in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines (68), particularly likes, who has been frequenting Brittany for 30 years and lives partly in Batz. He likes the effort of the organic market gardeners, the sense of the joke that the Bretons have. Brittany has always been a land of extraordinary welcome during the concerts of Rodolphe Burger’s mythical group, Kat Onoma (1980-2004), but also since 2003 or during his performance at the Panorama festival with Rachid Taha in Morlaix, he sees himself proposed, even asked to create something with traditional singer and Balkan lover Erik Marchand. Then will be born 2 albums Before Bach (2005) and Glück Auf! (2021) with the Breton singer.
