Stéphane Moulin (SMC coach) : The bad news is that we lost. on the match, I find it harsh all the same because they were extremely realistic. It’s part of football. We weren’t again tonight. We still had the means to achieve a better result.
The good news is that we finished seventh and I think that corresponds quite well to what we did in the second part to validate this place.
I find this deserved place in view of our second half of the season and I only want to remember that this evening. Because the lessons are difficult to learn tonight because of the many changes. I tried to make sure to present a competitive team but there was too much upheaval. Despite that, the first twenty minutes, we showed that we were still there. Unfortunately we did not find the little flame to find the way to the nets.
In all the squads, there are players who are more made to be starters and others who are more complementary to the squad. Tonight we played with a lot of additional squad. Inevitably, the overall quality suffers but it’s not giving a bad mark to those who played because I think that despite everything they played seriously. But I think we were a little limited tonight despite everything.
I don’t know if I will still coach Rodez next season. Laurent Peyrelade
Laurent Peyrelade (Rodez coach): My feeling? Job well done, objective achieved. So the satisfaction of having accomplished the task. The important thing is to keep a unity of work and thought. There were more complicated times. This season is done. It will have to be analyzed but it does not give you a point lead or less in the championship for the next season.
The important thing is to leave the club in Ligue 2 and finish well at home. We are rewarded for who we are and what we have done over the season. We will be able to rest and take time with our loved ones which is well deserved. I don’t know if I will still coach Rodez next season. It is a period of reflection. There is a huge challenge awaiting the club because the level is rising in Ligue 2. A long period of reflection awaits us to find out what we are doing.
