In addition to Poulin, the Penguins (24-23-4-4) were able to count on goals from another Quebecer, Félix Robert, as well as Chris Bigras and Alexander Nylander. Goaltender Louis Domingue blocked 37 shots.

It’s the first win in five games for the Penguins. Anthony Angello and Jusso Riikola each had two assists.

On the side of the Rocket (26-21-3-0), Louis-Philip Guindon had a difficult evening allowing three goals on six shots. He was replaced by Kevin Poulin who made 20 saves.

Joël Teasdale and Rafaël Harvey-Pinard scored for the visitors who suffered a second loss in a row.

Poulin scored from the 74and second of play before seeing Teasdale reply 26 seconds later. Poulin, however, did it again with his second of the game in less than three minutes. Chris Bigras then gave the Penguins a two-goal cushion midway through the first period.

The second period was quiet, but in the third period, the Penguins opened the floodgates. Nylander first went 4-1 on the power play. Then Harvey-Pinard also replied on the power play.

The locals, however, had not finished their demolition work as Robert made it 5-2 at 6:18 and Poulin completed the scoring in an empty net.
