(Syracuse) Jack LaFontaine made 31 saves and the Syracuse Crunch defeated the Laval Rocket 2-1 on Wednesday night.
Gemel Smith and Lucas Edmonds scored within 71 seconds early in the first period for the Crunch.
Rafaël Harvey-Pinard replied for the Rocket with 43 seconds to go. It was for Harvey-Pinard a 10e goal this season.
It also allowed the Rocket to avoid being blanked for the first time this season.
Kevin Poulin stopped 26 shots in front of the Rocket net.
