Hutchinson was the first of the two goalkeepers to give in, but then closed the door on Jean-François Houle’s men. The Marlies goalie was notably perfect in front of 15 shots in the final period, as the Rocket tried to tie the game.

Nick Robertson and Joey Anderson both had a goal and an assist for the Toronto squad, which snapped a two-game losing streak to stay in the playoff picture in the North Division.

Philippe Myers, Pontus Holmberg and Richard Clune added a goal for the Marlies (36-28-4), who rank sixth in the North Division in points saved percentage.

Joel Teasdale was the only scorer for the Rocket (37-25-6), which missed a first opportunity to qualify for the playoffs.

Kevin Poulin gave in four times in 30 shots in front of the Canadian club-school cage. The Rocket sits second in the North Division in points scored percentage.
