This is the end of the hunt for the English crook Robert Hendy-Freegard. The 51-year-old was arrested by authorities in Belgium on Friday September 2. “He was intercepted yesterday afternoon at the wheel of his vehicle on a motorway west of Brussels. He was the subject of an arrest warrant European and its license plate was recognized, was scanned by a CCTV camera”, reveals the journalist Julien Gasparutto.
After spotting the fugitive, authorities were able to arrest him. “He was wanted for having fled after having knocked down and injured two French gendarmes during a check at his home”, explains Julien Gasparutto. “Today it was heard by an investigating judge here in Brussels. Belgian justice will rule in the coming days on a probable extradition to France”, reports the journalist. The man had previously served time in prison in the UK.
