According to the authorities, the series of events in question occurred “in late December 2021 and early January 2022”.

Generally, the suspect’s modus operandi always seems similar. He first enters the business “either through a drive-thru window, at night, or through the main door when the business is open posing as an employee.”

Then, “depending on the case, the suspect goes to get the cash drawers, or sometimes rips them out, and leaves on foot”. The individual proceeds in this way “without any threat or violence towards those present”, indicated the SPVM.

We only have very few details about the wanted man, but he is said to be around 20 years old, and speaks French “with a North African accent”, according to the investigators assigned to the case.

“During the flights, he was dressed in a dark colored coat with a Canada Goose logo and black Air Force 1 Jordan style shoes with a metallic rectangle on the laces. In some cases he wore gloves and other times he put neon yellow stockings in his hands. He used three different backpacks on the flights. Twice it was a black shoulder bag with a white skull,” they also said.

Images of the suspect, captured by surveillance cameras, were released by the SPVM on Monday, in the hope of obtaining more information.

Anyone who believes they have relevant information in connection with this case is invited to contact 911, their neighborhood station, or the anonymous and confidential center of Info-Crime Montreal, at 514-393-1133. A reporting form can also be completed on the organization’s website.
