The company is prepared with leftover stale bread! Stale bread, strawberries for an easy to make and…delicious dessert!

Leftover bread – French toast, French toast, pudding – can also be prepared in a savory version.

Per person :

4 slices of stale bread soaked in water

1 egg

1 tbsp of sugar

1 tbsp of milk

Optional 1 tbsp finely chopped mint, thyme or lemon balm (take ½ tsp to garnish the strawberries)

For cooking, oil or butter (clarified)

For the strawberries, 1 ladle of strawberries, washed, hulled and cut into pieces

½ tsp fat

Optional, whipped cream.

Take the bread out of the water, wring it out or squeeze it well to remove the water Put it in a bowl and add the egg, sugar, milk and herbs. Mix well until you obtain a thick and homogeneous paste. In a frying pan, heat the fat then drop heaps of dough to make patties. Brown on one side then turn them over and brown the other side. Reserve the patties. In the same pan, heat the fat provided for the strawberries, add the strawberries and cook, stirring, for 1 min. Serve the galettes accompanied by the strawberries, decorate.
