Tension on several blocking points
Very early on, the Mahault crossroads in Pointe-Noire, the RN5 at the SDIS in Morne-à-l’Eau, the entrance to Abymes, at the Providence crossroads near the Clinique de l’Espérance, the RD106 at Dothémare in front of the SDIS of Perrin, Les Salines, on the RN4 in Le Gosier, and finally, Basse Terre, at the level of the hospital center, were blocked by demonstrators opposed to the vaccination obligation and the health pass.
In the morning, clashes between firefighters and the police took place in Abymes. It is with the fire hose that the firefighters tried to slow down the offensive of the gendarmerie squad.
Also during the morning, strong tensions erupted between members of the inter-union and the gendarmes dispatched to the clinic of Espérance, in Abymes.
Two trade unionists were arrested and taken to the Pointe-à-Pitre police station.

Service stations impacted
Several service stations in the Pointoise conurbation were also affected by this strike movement. Employees pointing the finger at the closure of their collective agreement by the Ministry of Labor. They kept doors closed while open structures were stormed by motorists. Road users, who as of yesterday, lined up at the island’s service stations.
