Rivière-du-Loup | Victims of an alleged massage therapist attacker sought by the SQ

Steeve Pellerin, a massage therapist arrested in Rivière-du-Loup on Wednesday for sexual crimes, could have caused other victims, according to the Sûreté du Québec. The police force is asking for the public’s help in this investigation.

The 49-year-old man from Notre-Dame-du-Portage, in Bas-Saint-Laurent, appeared Wednesday in Rivière-du-Loup on new charges of sexual assault.

“The events would have taken place between 1er June 2005 and July 28, 2022 as part of his work as a massage therapist,” specifies the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) in a press release released Thursday.

The accused would have practiced this job in several regions of Quebec and could therefore have caused victims elsewhere in the province. So far, several victims have been identified, which led to the establishment of the management structure for investigations into serial crimes (GECS), coordinated by the Sûreté du Québec.

“This is a unified command structure within which Quebec police services work in partnership to quickly identify crimes committed by predators and arrest them,” specifies the SQ.

Any person can transfer information confidentially to the Criminal Information Center of the Sûreté du Québec at 1 800 659-4264.
