A 37-year-old woman and her 6-month-old baby were found dead on Saturday afternoon in Parc des Chutes in Rivière-du-Loup.

It was a passerby who discovered the bodies, around 1:45 p.m., at the bottom of a cliff. The cause of death is not known.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), everything points to a voluntary action by the mother. “It’s lined up to be a voluntary gesture. It looks like that, ”said Stéphane Tremblay, spokesperson for the SQ.
The investigation was entrusted to the SQ’s Crimes Against Persons Investigation Service.
