Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles | A residence targeted by gunfire

(Montreal) Montreal police are investigating shots fired overnight from Friday to Saturday at a residence in the Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles borough.


It was calls to 911, around 1:20 a.m. Saturday morning, which alerted the police to loud noises of broken windows on rue Anna-Paquin, near the intersection with rue Mariana Jodoin.

When they arrived at the scene, the suspect or suspects had already fled in a vehicle, the description of which was not provided.

“When the police arrived on the scene, they found that the broken windows were due to shots that were fired in the direction of a residence. They located firearm projectiles as well as casings on the ground,” said Véronique Dubuc, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

No one was injured during the event.

“A security perimeter has been established to protect the crime scene. The canine squad, the forensic identification technicians as well as the investigators will analyze the scene and collect the information to try to establish the causes and circumstances of this event,” said agent Dubuc.

The SPVM investigation is continuing.
