Saturday July 23 is a marked day by many departures on vacation. A lot of people frequent the highways, but watch out for those who throw their cigarette butts while driving. An association is carrying out preventive action to encourage motorists to break this bad habit.

This is a very bad habit that one in four motorists admits to having: cigarette butts while driving. After the numerous fires that ravaged part of the country and in a context of major holiday departures, Saturday July 23, an association educates drivers. This gesture is not insignificant, it is a gesture that can cause a catastrophe that can kill people”warns Marc Dumas, firefighter of Bouches-du-Rhône.

To prevent motorists from being tempted to throw their cigarettes out of their car window, 30,000 pocket ashtrays will be distributed. “It’s true that in the car, we no longer have an ashtray today, so it’s perfect”reacts a motorist. To warn of possible fire damage, an exhibition of photographs is also taking place to show motorists the beauty of the landscapes, which could burn in the event of a fire. Children also receive a prevention booklet.
