Risk of fire | Cosori recalls two million air fryers

Manufacturer Cosori is recalling more than two million air fryers sold in Canada, the United States and Mexico due to a fire hazard.

“Wire connectors in products can overheat, posing a burn and fire hazard,” reads recalls-rappels.canada.ca.

As of February 2023, it adds, the company had received 205 reports globally, including 56 reports in Canada, of air fryers catching fire, burning, melting, overheating or emitting smoke.

The company also received 23 reports of minor property damage globally and ten reports of minor superficial burns, including four reports in Canada, according to the site.

The recalled air fryers were sold between June 2018 and December 2022 at various retailers and online. Multiple 3.7 and 5.8 quart models are targeted. All feature Cosori branding to the front.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and may request a replacement free of charge by registering online at www.recall.cosori.com or by calling the toll-free line 1-888-216-5974.
