The Oscars are starting to find their audience. After registering the worst ratings in its history last year, the ceremony was seen by 15.36 million onlookers on Sunday.

This marks an increase of 56% compared to 2021, the year when the edition without host had rallied only a meager 9.85 million pairs of eyes, according to the American firm Nielsen.
It must be said that the 2022 edition, where Dune won a total of six golden statuettes, was high in emotions and reversals. Whether it was Beyoncé’s performance at the gala opener, CODA’s surprise late-night victory or, of course, Will Smith’s slap in the face to presenter Chris Rock, viewers have seen it all.
