Insurance rates will increase in 2025, whether for homes, cars or health. Between 10% and 12% increase is expected for home insurance.
24 hours after the flood that hit the city center of Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes), it is time to assess the damage on the morning of Tuesday, September 24. Many vehicles were affected by the rising water. Not all of them will be able to leave. These increasingly frequent climatic events are costing insurers dearly, with more than 6.5 billion euros of damage in 2023.
This is the third worst year in 40 years, which largely explains the increase in contributions in 2025 for our home insurance. Between 10% and 12% increase is expected. An additional cost that could apply first to residents of the most affected regions. Increases of 6% to 8% are also expected for health insurance in 2025. The revaluation of consultation fees is notably to blame. Finally, car insurance rates are also expected to rise, this time due to the increasingly high cost of spare parts.
