Rise in cases | Schools tighten health rules

Schools did not wait for the new announcements from Quebec, scheduled for Thursday, to tighten their health rules. The Collège de Montréal strongly recommends that its high school students wear the mask at all times.

“It goes without saying that the exponential rise in positive cases and the presence of the Omicron variant in Quebec over the past few days have worried us,” writes the management of this private school in Montreal.

As a result, the school once again “strongly” recommends wearing a mask.

Primary schools are not left out. To “reduce the spread”, schools have stopped mixing groups of students at lunchtime. The students eat in their respective classes, as was the case last year when the class bubbles were introduced.

There are currently 1,416 schools with active cases of COVID-19.

The announcements that will be made by Quebec on Thursday evening are the subject of all the rumors in the school community. Teachers report emergency meetings to prepare computer equipment for distance teaching.
