In the United Kingdom, violent riots are shaking the country. At least two hotels housing asylum seekers have been targeted by anti-immigration protesters. These incidents follow the deaths of three girls a week ago in a dance school.
Police were forced to retreat in the face of rioters in Middlesbrough, in the north of the United Kingdom. Similar scenes of urban chaos have taken place in several towns. Shops and cars have been vandalized, each time with the same target: Muslims. “We just want illegal immigration to stop”assures one of the demonstrators.
Rioters broke windows, started a fire, threw projectiles at police officers, while others shouted slogans such as “Put them out”For five days, the country has been in the grip of racist riots of rare violence. A shelter for asylum seekers was stormed by the angry crowd. In some cities, anti-racist counter-demonstrations have taken place, such as in Liverpool.
