Stores ransacked, looted, public buildings burned… Dix months after the riots of June 2023, the Senate calculates the amount of damage. 16,400 disasters were declared, for 793 million euros in damage and a cost estimated at four times that of the 2005 riots. In its report, the Senate therefore proposes a modernization of policing, in particular better training of police officers facing the riots.
