“I’m sure you’ll be as surprised as I am,” he wrote, posting a selfie in which he sends “peace and love” to his fans.
Concerts were scheduled for tonight and for the whole weekend in California, while the tour was due to conclude next week in Mexico City, with shows scheduled for October 19 and 20.
In early October, the 82-year-old former Beatles member had to cancel all of his Canadian concerts, in the Prairies and in the West, due to a positive diagnosis of COVID-19. A press release had been released, stating that he hoped to return to the stage as soon as possible and that he was recovering at home.
Ringo Starr’s North American tour began last May, with a stop at the Bell Center in Laval on September 26.
