Appointed artistic director of the “Men’s” branch of the Louis Vuitton house, Pharrell Williams presented his very first collection this Tuesday, June 20, 2023 in Paris. The famous singer-turned-stylist has indeed opened Men’s Fashion Week which will take place in the capital until Sunday June 25, 2023, a week during which the many labels will present their vision of men’s fashion for Spring/Summer 2024.
Successor of the late Virgil Abloh, Pharrell Williams saw things big for his very first show… by privatizing the Pont Neuf, where the parade was held. “This is the first time that there will be such an event on this monument so symbolic for Paris and for the brand” boasted the American artist in the columns of Figaro. Happy to have imagined a grandiose show, Pharrell Williams also assured that the parade which was held at 9:30 p.m. was “an event to experience” and that the guests “may be surprised, even shocked”.
Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2024 show: prestigious guests for Pharrell Williams
Just before the parade, we revealed to you exclusively that Michelle and Barack Obama were among the distinguished guests. Once again, the front row of the parade was invaded by big stars as Zendaya, Naomi Campbell and Kim Kardashian were spotted! Another big surprise, Rihanna pregnant with her second child was also present on the arm of her darling, rapper Asap Rocky. Obviously, since the singer appears in the latest campaign for Louis Vuitton, designed by Pharrell Williams.
The choice to bet on a pregnant woman for a men’s fashion advertising campaign also proves that genderless fashion (without male or female gender) is literally the future of ready-to-wear.
Finally, Beyoncé, who is on a concert tour as part of her “Renaissance Tour”, took a break from her European journey and was also present at the parade on the arm of her husband Jay-Z.
