The party is tabling a new bill on the “right to disconnect”, that is to say the right of an employee not to respond to messages and communications from his employer outside of his working hours.

In October, the Ontario government tabled a bill that recognizes this right in companies with 25 or more employees.

QS Labor spokesperson Alexandre Leduc believes that this is a hot topical issue, due to the teleworking that emerged during the pandemic, but also mental health issues.

Québec solidaire had already tabled a similar bill in June 2020. It provided that each employer had to establish a disconnection policy applicable to all its employees.
