Rideau Mall Emergency Evacuation: One Person Arrested, Police Operation Ended

OTTAWA | The Rideau Center in downtown Ottawa is evacuated. A major police deployment was underway on Tuesday afternoon. Police did not specify the nature of the threat.

The police operation ended in the middle of the afternoon.

Only one person has been arrested, Ottawa police confirmed.

Authorities have asked residents to avoid Dalhousie Street towards the canal and the Mackenzie King Bridge due to the ongoing police operation.

The mall is located less than a kilometer from the parliament. It had reopened today after more than three weeks of closure.
